The PEMNET System

The FDA's Public Health Advisory "Avoidance of Serious X-Ray-Induced Skin Injuries to Patients During Fluoroscopically-Guided Procedures" recommends standardizing protocols and practices for these procedures and taking steps to measure and minimize dose rates. PEMNET, or the Patient Exposure Management NETwork, addresses this increasing awareness by providing the clinician the way to both measure, record and minimize patients skin exposure.

PEMNET is currently the only system capable of displaying and recording the ongoing delivered entrance skin exposure in R/min as well as the total radiation in 'R' delivered. Less sophisticated "Dose Area Product," or DAP meters are not capable of providing this data in a meaningful and understandable manner. All of PEMNET's patient radiation data flows into a central file-server where it is stored so that information on patient exposure can be easily retrieved at a later date. PEMNET is also "Network Ready" and can output patient dose records to a local hospital network.

The PEMNET system is -

  • Network ready to output patient dose records to a local hospital network.
  • Truly universal and compatible with X-ray equipment from virtually any of the major vendors.
  • Records data for ALL modalities of X-ray: Fluoro, Pulsed Fluoro, CINE, digital, angiographic and radiographic.
